Discovery Assessment
First understand, then change and improve.
Technology adoption rarely fails because of the technology itself. What's usually missing is transparency about the current maturity level, shared priorities, or the skills to make change stick.
Our Discovery Assessment delivers a structured analysis of your platforms, processes, and teams. Together we identify strengths, risks, and concrete fields of action — before you invest in new technologies, training, or projects.
We recommend running all assessment modules, because experience shows that weaknesses rarely occur in isolation. At the same time, each area can be assessed independently to address specific questions.
How We Measure Success
Four metrics that remain meaningful long after we leave:
DORA Four Keys
Time to Remediate
Onboarding Time
AI-Specific Metrics
Your Outcome
- Maturity rating per topic area or as a whole
- Identification of technical and organizational risks
- Transparency about knowledge and skill gaps
- Prioritized recommendations for action
- Individual enablement and transformation roadmap
Our Assessment Modules
Not every stakeholder faces the same challenges. Whilst sales managers need transparency and forecasts, managing directors focus on growth and efficiency. Our modules are therefore designed to be flexible: they can be used individually, combined as required, or implemented as an integrated 360° solution, with suitable entry points for every user profile.
Can developers deliver fast and safely?
Modern platforms should empower teams, not slow them down. We analyze how infrastructure, development processes, and platform services are used today and which obstacles limit productivity and scalability.Focus Areas
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / OpenTofu)
- Kubernetes and cloud-native usage
- Internal platforms and self-service offerings
- Developer experience
- Standardization and reusability
- Platform governance
- Documentation and operating models
Outcome
- Platform maturity rating
- Identification of bottlenecks
- Recommendations for scaling and standardization
- Platform engineering roadmap
How fast and safely do changes reach production?
DevSecOps connects development, operations, and security. We examine how efficiently software is delivered and where risks or manual processes block the flow.Focus Areas
- CI/CD pipelines
- Deployment processes
- Automation and testing
- Security gates
- Vulnerability management
- Policy as Code
- Release and rollback strategies
Outcome
- Analysis of the delivery process
- Rating of automation level and security
- Identification of manual dependencies
- Prioritized improvement measures
Where can AI create real value?
Many companies already experiment with AI tools without systematically tapping their potential. We analyze current usage, automation opportunities, and the organizational prerequisites for productive adoption.Focus Areas
- Use of AI coding assistants
- Agentic engineering
- Workflow automation
- Knowledge management
- Local and sovereign AI solutions
- Governance and policies
- AI enablement of the teams
Outcome
- AI maturity rating
- Identification of suitable use cases
- Prioritization of automation potential
- AI adoption roadmap
Is your team tapping Claude's full potential?
Many teams already work with Claude but use only a fraction of its capabilities. We analyze how your team uses Claude today, how much rework its output requires, and which features remain untouched.Focus Areas
- Usage patterns and feature coverage (Claude Code, agents, MCP)
- Prompt and context quality
- AI rework rate
- Token cost per completed task
- Integration into existing workflows and tools
- Governance and policies for Claude usage
- Enablement needs of the teams
Outcome
- Claude maturity rating
- Transparency about cost and output quality
- Identification of unused features and use cases
- Roadmap for productive Claude adoption
Are security and compliance systematically anchored?
Security must not be an afterthought. We analyze technical and organizational measures to surface risks early.Focus Areas
- Identity and access management
- Secrets and key management
- Mondoo vulnerability management
- HashiCorp Vault and comparable solutions
- Compliance requirements
- CIS and ISO standards
- Security processes
- Auditability and traceability
Outcome
- Transparency about security risks
- Rating of existing safeguards
- Compliance gap analysis
- Recommendations for risk reduction
Is the infrastructure ready for growth?
Cloud and hybrid-cloud environments often evolve organically. We evaluate operating models, governance, and the scalability of your infrastructure.Focus Areas
- Cloud strategy
- Operating and support models
- Infrastructure governance
- Cost control and FinOps
- Multi-cloud and hybrid scenarios
- Monitoring and observability
- Disaster recovery and resilience
Outcome
- Operational maturity rating
- Identification of technical risks
- Recommendations for governance and scaling
- Optimization potential for operations and cost
Do the teams have the skills they need?
The success of new technologies depends largely on the people who use them. We analyze skills, responsibilities, and the distribution of knowledge within the organization.Focus Areas
- Roles and responsibilities
- Skill matrix
- Knowledge distribution
- Certification status
- Learning and development processes
- Cross-team collaboration
- Enablement needs
Outcome
- Transparency about existing competencies
- Identification of critical knowledge gaps
- Prioritized training and enablement measures
- Individual competence development roadmap

FAQ Discovery Assessment
Yes! We go deep, not wide. On day 0 the questions are defined up front, so the week itself is dedicated to observation, pairing, and synthesis. The final report then captures that depth in writing.
Both work. Remote engagements use video pairing and asynchronous shadowing. On-site engagements usually deliver more meaningful results when your team works from one location.
The format scales well. For small teams we compress the development and automation lanes and dedicate more time to the playbook.
That's up to you. Some teams take the playbook and implement it directly. Others ask us for follow-up training on the specific Claude features highlighted in the report. We would rather see you succeed with the report alone than burden you with unnecessary extra work.
No. The audit is platform-agnostic regarding QA, observability, and CI. We work with what you already have and only recommend changes the report can justify.

Training
Your team is guided through structured, trainer-led programs that accelerate skill development, build confidence, and create long-term independence, reducing onboarding time and reliance on external support.
Consulting
Collaborate with our consultants on a focused initiative to resolve complex challenges, accelerate delivery timelines, reduce operational risk, and unblock teams, without increasing long-term headcount or organizational overhead.
